We are proud of our on-going ministry and our place in the local history of Cranbrook.
Christ Church was the first church in Cranbrook, built in 1898, a few months after the railway arrived. In 2023, we celebrate 125 years of continuous ministry and service to the people and families of Cranbrook and beyond.
We proudly hold the distinction of being the oldest building in Cranbrook that is used today for its original purpose. We received the 1999 Commercial Heritage Award and are a featured site on the Cranbrook Historical Society summer walking tours.
In 1998, a full century after Christ Church's construction and consecration, we undertook an extensive restoration that saw the addition of the Parish Hall (Centennial Hall), an upgraded kitchen, modern parish offices and meeting spaces.
Today, we are a vibrant, open and inclusive community, doing our best to follow Jesus faithfully and to serve the needs of the wider community. The Parish of Christ Church looks forward to another century of ministering and serving God in Cranbrook and the East Kootenays.
We gather every Sunday for worship, and throughout the week for faith formation programs, social groups, community activities and special events. We are a favourite venue for the celebration of Weddings, Baptisms, Celebrations of Life (funerals and memorials) and other rites of passage and gatherings.
